You’ll probably already know we’ve been shortlisted for a CIPD Award (unless you’ve been hiding under a rock, our Twitter and LinkedIn posts have been rightly enthusiastic!)
On Wednesday we travelled to London for the rather ominous ‘judging panel’. However confident a person may be, the words ‘judging panel’ for many of us resurface memories of school, talent contests or XFactor auditions!…
That feeling, along with the restriction of a 20 minute ‘window’ to tell the story of a two-year collaboration with AkzoNobel made for some interesting preparation conversations!
So we decided to do what we do best,
- Think creatively about the message we wanted the judges to hear
- Trust our client partner, Jenny (Customer Experience Director) to tell the story from her perspective
- Cut to the heart of the matter with no jargon or business speak – just our impact
- Enjoy ourselves – and hope the judges did too
Paint tins, photos of events, Insights Discovery bricks and The Chimp Paradox were all evident throughout our submission – and some authentic ‘lump in throat’ moments to hear Jenny talk about the impact of our collaboration in the business.
I left the panel feeling genuinely proud of the project that so many of the Leading Edge team have been part of. I’m the guy who was lucky enough to present to the judges, but the award, if we’re successful in winning, will be a great endorsement for the whole team.
