Date: 18 November 2021

You’re invited to join for our next Performance Hub – a virtual conversation exploring ‘Winning on Winning’  at 0600hrs to 0825hrs GMT

While many of us are striving to achieve our win in increasingly competitive fields, there are some elite sport teams and organisations who have not only reached the pinnacle of their field, but maintained it – season after season, year after year.

  •  New Zealand rugby – New Zealand has a 77 per-cent winning record in test-match rugby, and is the only international men’s side to have secured more wins than losses against every test opponent. Since their international debut in 1903, New Zealand teams have played test matches against 19 nations, of which 11 have never won a game against the All Blacks. The team has also played against three multinational all-star teams, losing only eight of 45 matches. Since the introduction of the World Rugby Rankings in 2003, New Zealand has held the number-one ranking longer than all other teams combined.
  • Novak Djokovic – currently ranked as world No. 1by the Association of Tennis Professionals (ATP). Djokovic has been No. 1 for a record total of 340 weeks, and has finished as ATP year-end No. 1 on a joint-record six occasions. He has won an all-time joint record 20 Grand Slam men’s singles titles. Overall, he has won 85 ATP singles titles, including a record nine Australian Open titles and a joint record 36 Masters Djokovic is the only player in the Open Era to achieve a double career Grand Slam, as well as the only player to complete the career Golden Masters on the modern ATP Tour, which he has done twice.
  • Olympique Lyonnais Féminin commonly referred to as Olympique Lyon, is a French women’s football club based in Lyon with fifteen league titles as Olympique Lyonnais and four league titles as FC Lyon previously. The team has won seven Champions League titles, including a record five successive titles from 2016 to 2020, as well as 14 consecutive domestic league titles from 2007 to 2020. They have also won five trebles when the top-level continental competition is considered, the most for any team.

What is it about these teams and individuals that enables them to perpetually win?  How do you motivate to ‘go again’?  What’s the secret of their continued success?

We’ll be joined by Dave Hadfield to explore this intriguing topic.

Dave is one of New Zealand’s most experienced mental skills trainers and coach educators and mentors. He has an extensive background in leadership, coaching and sport psychology, with considerable experience in elite level rugby, including with the New Zealand rugby pathway and cricket coaching.  In addition to his extensive sporting background, Dave has a Masters degree in Psychology, a B.A in Social Sciences and a Diploma in Management, and he is currently consulting with Toronto Blue Jays Major League baseball organisation.’

Other speakers to be confirmed.
