UK’s next generation of retail managers have the Leading Edge in 2013

“Absolutely inspirational, definitely a pivotal moment in my career…”

Just one of the glowing testimonials from last year’s participants which helps to explain why 90 retail managers have registered to attend the 2013 Oxford Summer School Foundation course, to be held at St Catherine’s College, Oxford between 1st and 5th July.

The success of the inaugural Foundation programme in 2012, has seen the Oxford Summer School again choose to partner Leading Edge, a people development business whose vision is to ‘Create Partnerships, Develop People, Deliver Results’. Patrick Marr, Managing Director of Leading Edge said:

“The Oxford Summer School has an amazing history of supporting retail managers and we’re delighted to play our part. One of our beliefs we describe as ‘learning to dance takes more than just learning the steps’, and the intensive, but supportive format of the week really gives delegates the ‘chance to dance’.”

Leading Edge’s consultant team support the delegates in one of the first sessions of the week-long residential using the Insights Discovery profile – a self-awareness report that identifies styles and preferences of leadership and communication. The learning from this event underpins the activities and choices delegates make throughout the remainder of the week.

Wednesday at the School is People Day, with a real focus on coaching and leadership. Patrick takes a keynote speaker and facilitator role, an opportunity he relishes:

“All of us at Leading Edge are passionate about supporting the next generation of retail leaders. We are excited about working with this year’s delegates as a potential decision-makers and leaders of the future in such a positive, proactive learning environment”.
